On August 8, His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom visited Scotland and toured the area of the Port of Nigg in the Highlands where Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. is planning to construct a power cable factory.
Sumitomo Electric announced its plans to establish a power cable factory in the area in April 2023 with the aim of expanding its power cable business in the European region, and is currently working on the concrete implementation of these plans.
