Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. Announces Sale and Maintenance Service Contract with Pengbo Medical Technology Co., Ltd

On 17 January 2023, Pengbo (Hainan) and Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. entered into the Sales Contract, pursuant to which Pengbo (Hainan) agreed to acquire, and SHI agreed to sell, the BNCT Parts, at the initial Sales Contract Price of JPY 436,000,000 (equivalent to approximately HKD 26,502,000) (excluding any withholding tax which shall be borne by Pengbo (Hainan) and subject to any Adjustment). MAINTENANCE SERVICE CONTRACT: On 17 January 2023 (after trading hours), the Company, Pengbo (Hainan) and SHI entered into the Maintenance Service Contract, pursuant to which Pengbo (Hainan) agreed to procure, and SHI agreed to provide, maintenance services for the BNCT Equipment at the consideration of JPY 360,600,000 (equivalent to approximately HKD 21,919,000) (excluding any withholding tax which shall be borne by Pengbo (Hainan)).
Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. specializes in the design, manufacturing and marketing of industrial and construction equipment. Net sales break down by family of products as follows:
- construction equipment (29.3%): hydraulic excavators, cranes, road machinery, etc.;
- precision machinery (20.8%): molding machines by injection, electric injection molding machines, medical use cyclotrons, etc.;
- equipment for environment protection (19.8%): energy generators, industrial wastewater processing systems, air pollution control units, etc.;
- machinery components (14.4%): power transmission and control systems (gears, power inverters, geared motors, gearboxes, etc.), motors, mechanical coupling systems, etc.;
- industrial equipment (11%): handling systems, logistic equipment, gas turbines, pumps, etc.;
- ships (4%);
- other (0.7%).
