Publication of TCFD Report 2023/2024

Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Holdings, Inc. (Director, President: Toru Takakura) published the TCFD*1 Report 2023/2024 in English today.

In 2018, we endorsed the TCFD Recommendations, and since then, we have been actively working on climate change-related issues and disclosures. This report covers carbon neutrality transition plans, 2030 intermediate reduction targets and results in line with the frameworks of the Net-Zero Banking Alliance (NZBA*2) and Net Zero Asset Managers initiative (NZAMI*3). In addition, we disclose the results of scenario analysis regarding climate change, and our group's various initiatives toward carbon neutrality.

We will continuously contribute to the realization of a decarbonized society by tackling the issue of climate change, communicating and collaborating with stakeholders, and striving to resolve such issues through engagement.

*1 Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures

*2 The banking industry's alliance established by the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI), aiming to achieve net-zero GHG emissions from investment and loan portfolios by 2050.

*3 The asset managers' initiative that aims to achieve net-zero GHG emissions from their portfolios under management by 2050.
