TERNA: NEW UNDERGROUND POWER LINE GOES LIVE IN

FANO

The connection will increase the reliability of the new "Mondolfo" primary cabin

Investment of approx. 9 million euros

Rome, 22 December 2023 - Terna's new underground 132 kV power line is now

operational, connecting the substation and industrial area of Fano, in the province of Pesaro and Urbino.

This infrastructure, involving investment from the company led by Giuseppina Di Foggia of approx. 9 million euros, will increase the security and adequacy of the new "Mondolfo" primary cabin and make the area's electricity grid more reliable, with multiple benefits. These include strengthening of the high-voltage grid that meets demand from local businesses.

The power line, created entirely in underground cable, has been laid along existing roads and runs for approx. 6.5 km.

The project is the result of continuous consultation and dialogue with the local area and its authorities, leading to Terna's acceptance of a request from the municipality to relocate a section of cable, moving it further away from residential areas, and the issue of a Memorandum of Understanding by the Marche regional authority.

With a team of over 40 personnel engaged daily in the development and maintenance of the electricity grid, Terna manages approximately 2000 km of high and extra-high-voltage power lines and 20 substations in the Marche region.
