Thales has joined forces with several partners to create a consortium to develop a tool-based methodology for assessing pilot behavior.

This research project - led by the French electronics group - aims to meet the new flight safety requirements of the French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

This consortium will bring together the expertise of all players involved in training, from airlines to training centers and schools.

The consortium will include the Ecole Nationale de l'Aviation Civile (ENAC), the Ecole Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay and Simaero, a specialist in airline pilot training on flight simulators.

It will also include AviaSim, a specialist in aviation leisure activities, and the French airline Corsair.

As leader of the project, Thales plans to contribute its knowledge and technology developed during research into the analysis of human factors in aircraft piloting, using a multi-modal approach combining voice, ocular and manipulation.
