The Game Group plc is a United Kingdom-based investment holding company. The Company, along with its subsidiaries, is a specialist personal computer (pc) and video games retailer trading via retail outlets and e-Commerce sites. As of January 31, 2011, the Company operated in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, and five international territories, with 639 stores throughout the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, 197 in France, 287 in Iberia, 65 in Scandinavia, 31 in the Czech Republic and 94 (including one franchise) in Australia, as well as operating a global online operation with sites including game.co.uk, gameplay.co.uk and gamestation.co.uk. The Company, together with its subsidiaries also offers a range of software and peripherals, including its own brand accessories. The Companys subsidiaries include Game Stores Group Ltd, Gameplay (GB) Ltd, Games Station Limited, Game Stores Group Sweden AB and Game Stores Iberia, S.L.U.
