"FREEKEY Company Car Reservation"

A newly developed system improving the effectiveness of the use and

management of the company cars

Tokai Rika Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Oguchi-cho, Niwagun, Aichi-ken; Representative Director and President: Hiroyoshi Ninoyu; hereafter called as"Tokai Rika"), and dotD, Inc. (Minato-ku,Tokyo-to; Representative Director and CEO:Hisashi Onoda; hereafter called as "dotD") have developed a new company car management system "FREEKEY-Company Car Reservation", which enables the total managements of reservation, daily use records, car maintenance results as well as the key locking/unlocking by the use of the digital keys. After the demonstration experiment starting in September, 2021, they plan to start full-scale operation from January, 2022.

Nowadays, still many companies record the business trip records by way of papers and their own PCs, and it is still a big issue from the points of complicated and time-consuming standpoints. Also still many cases are found that they spend a lot of time and efforts for the physical handovers of the car keys such as dropping in the companies and their related departments just to pick up the keys on the holidays.

Three features of FREEKEY Company Car Reservation

  1. This enables key locking/unlocking by smart phone
    Once company employees make a reservation through this system, a digital key is automatically posted onto the application of their smart phone, which enables a key locking/unlocking through this application software and no physical handover of the keys are not required anymore. Also this requires no troublesome handovers of the keys by the car users and the managements, which results no trouble caused by the losses and misplacements of the keys.*1
  2. All routine works for car maintenance and operation records can be done on the smart phone
    Various operations such as recording the car maintenance before and after the use, which require time-taking work when using company cars can be made on the smart phone. This improves the convenience and the work efficiency to a great deal.
  3. This software helps to optimize the number of cars by visualizing the company car usage results
    A smooth company car operation can be achieved through the company car reservation to key handover. As a consequence, car usage results and usage frequencies can be visualized, which leads the optimization of the

numbers of the company cars as well as the cost reduction for the company.

*1 This is a mechanism which enables key locking/unlocking by smart phone operation just by physically setting the key within a smart device "FREEKEY Box" within a car provided by TOKAI RIKA Digitalkey.

This is an add-on device without any additional cost and handling, which can be installed without any modification. It uses BLE* communication and you can lock/unlock the key even under such circumstances where internet cannot be used.
