'TPG Telecom and Rakuten Mobile to launch 5G OpenRAN Trial in Singapore'

TPG Telecom has teamed up with Rakuten Mobile to launch a 5G OpenRAN services trial in Singapore. TPG expects this trial to accelerate the adoption of 5G mobile networks with software-defined technology based on open interfaces and community-developed standards running on open hardware. As part of the trial, Rakuten Mobile plans to share its virtualization services built on an open and multivendor mobile network ecosystem.
