UAC of Nigeria Plc announced earnings results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2020. For the second quarter, the company announced sales was NGN 17,084.840 million compared to NGN 19,971.110 million a year ago. Operating loss was NGN 300.284 million compared to operating Income of NGN 1,329.644 million a year ago. Net loss was NGN 1,488.362 million compared to net income of NGN 1,114.271 million a year ago. For the half year, sales was NGN 36,633.380 million compared to NGN 40,112.277 million a year ago. Operating income was NGN 828.036 million compared to NGN 3,052.263 million a year ago. Net income was NGN 932.679 million compared to NGN 1,772.885 million a year ago.
UAC of Nigeria Plc is a diversified group organized around 5 areas of activity:
- production and sale of animal feed (63.5% of net sales). The group also produces cereals and edible oils;
- manufacturing of food products (21.1%): soft drinks, fruit juices, bottled water, snacks, ice cream, etc.;
- manufacturing and sale of paints (12.3%);
- fast food services (1.8%);
- other (0.9%): primarily financial services, logistics services and development and management of residential and commercial real estate assets.
