URS Selected as Main Information Contractor for the LNG Canada Project

June 17, 2014 - URS Corporation has been awarded a contract by LNG Canada to serve as the main information contractor for its proposed project to build a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility in Kitimat, British Columbia.

Under the contract, URS' scope of work will be to configure, implement, and support an integrated engineering environment that enables the project to create and share information through a central, globally accessible platform. This represents a dynamic shift in how the industry leverages technology to gain efficiencies and improve the quality of information. URS is under contract for the project's front-end engineering design phase and will work closely with LNG Canada's main contractor, CFSW LNG Constructors, a joint venture with affiliates of Chiyoda Corporation, Foster Wheeler AG, Saipem S.p.A, and WorleyParsons Ltd.

"We look forward to providing our skilled resources, in multiple locations and time zones, to support the LNG Canada project," said Mark Costello, General Manager for URS' Industrial/Process Group. "LNG Canada has chosen us as a partner to ensure coordinated, consistent, complete, and accurate data for the entire project life cycle."
