Vantage Drilling has inked a deal for a two-year extension of the ultra-deepwater drillship Tungsten Explorer contract. The contract which was originally signed in 2013, and running from mid-2014 for two years, is anticipated to keep the Tungsten Explorer working until October 2018. In 2013, the Tungsten Explorer was delivered from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in South Korea.

It has been working offshore Congo, for Total. Vantage owns three ultra-deepwater drillships: the Platinum Explorer, the Titanium Explorer and the Tungsten Explorer, and four Baker Marine Pacific Class 375 ultra-premium jackup drilling rigs.
