Vergnet announced today that it has restarted the installation of multi-site power plants in Antigua, one of the two main islands in the Caribbean state of Antigua and Barbuda.

This new start is the consequence of the 3R Plan, the strategic plan initiated by the group's new management last September announces Vergnet.

As a reminder, this project, which had experienced a significant delay, had been signed in 2018 for $14 million with commissioning initially scheduled for November 2020.

Operated on behalf of the Department of the Environment and financed by the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, the project involves the installation of multi-site wind and solar power plants: 13 MPC wind turbines on the Parham Bridge site, 2 MPC wind turbines on the Island Stadium site and 567 kWp of photovoltaics.

Construction work and equipment installation have just restarted, and the first commissioning of the plants is scheduled for early 2024.

For Cyril Ledran, Vergnet's Managing Director, "the takeover of this project materializes the Group's financing solutions defined in our strategic plan, enabling us to restart a number of future projects".
