Veris Gold Corp. announced that its Jerritt Canyon mill operations located in Elko County, Nevada will undergo its annual maintenance shut down commencing March 11, 2014. Jerritt Canyon is operated by Veris Gold USA Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company.

The Jerritt Canyon annual maintenance shut down is being conducted in concert with training and the installation of new monitoring points in anticipation of the receipt of its new Class I Operating Permit. Veris undertakes a regular annual maintenance shutdown as a prudent normal-course-of-action to ensure that the Jerritt Canyon roasters are operating optimally throughout the remainder of the year and to minimize unplanned down-time. It is anticipated that the shutdown will last for three weeks.

During the shutdown it is expected that the Company will continue to mine from all three of its operating gold mines.
