FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX Broker) - Wacker Neuson shares are facing a new technical test on Monday. Following a downgrade by the Metzler bank, support at the recent lows since November is wobbling. Below EUR 16.28, there is a risk of a slide back to the level seen at the end of 2022. Shortly after the start of trading, the share price fell by 2.1% to EUR 16.46.

Metzler expert Stephan Bauer fears "a year of headwinds" in 2024. Despite a significant drop in earnings estimates, he is reluctant to downgrade the company because the management has done such a good job. The shares are also valued favorably. However, shares in the capital goods sector could remain this cheap for some time if incoming orders do not grow and profit expectations are not topped, says Bauer. In the short term, uncertainty in the European construction sector is high./ag/mis
