Webzen Inc. reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months of 2017. For the quarter, the company reported revenue of KRW 43,744 million against KRW 53,873 million for the same period a year ago. Operation income was KRW 11,199 million against KRW 14,661 million a year ago. Profit from continuing operation before
corporate income tax was KRW 13,000 million against KRW 14,787 million a year ago. Net income was KRW 10,048 million against KRW 11,285 million a year ago. Net income attributable to the shareholders of the parent company was KRW 10,091 million against KRW 11,404 million a year ago.
For the six months, the company reported revenue of KRW 86,862 million against KRW 113,918 million for the same period a year ago. Operation income was KRW 22,104 million against KRW 31,695 million a year ago. Profit from continuing operation before corporate income tax was KRW 23,871 million against KRW 32,095 million a year ago. Net income was KRW 17,427 million against KRW 23,630 million a year ago. Net income attributable to the shareholders of the parent company was KRW 17,531 million against KRW 23,827 million a year ago.
Webzen Inc is a Korea-based company mainly engaged in the development and publishing of games. The Company operates its business through two segments. The Game Development and Service Intellectual Property License segment develops and sells mobile games such as Mu Origin 1 and Mu Origin 2 and online games such as Mu Online, R2, Shot Online, and Mu Online H5. In addition, the Segment is engaged in game intellectual property(IP) alliance business of Awakening, Spiritual Sanctuary, Archangel Earth Sword H5 and others. The Game Development and Service and Other segment develops and sells other online games and mobile games. The Company sells its products in domestic and overseas markets such as Japan and China.
