The board (the "Board") of directors (the "Director(s)") of WuXi Biologics (Cayman) Inc. announced that Dr. Jue Chen ("Dr. Chen") has been appointed as an independent non-executive Director with effect from August 16, 2023. Dr. Chen, aged 53, is a biologist and possesses decades of experience in the biology related sectors. Dr. Chen is currently the William E. Ford Professor at The Rockefeller University, where she has joined since 2014.

Dr. Chen has also been serving as an investigator at Howard Hughes Medical Institute since 2008. Prior to such, Dr. Chen joined Purdue University as an assistant professor in 2002, then promoted to an associate professor in 2007 and subsequently served as a professor from 2011 to 2014. Dr. Chen was elected to the National Academy of Sciences in 2019.

Dr. Chen obtained her bachelor of science's degree in chemistry from Ohio University in 1993 and Ph.D. degree in biochemistry from Harvard University in 1998. She completed her postdoctoral work at Harvard University from 1998 to 1999 and at Baylor College of Medicine from 1999 to 2001. The Board further announces that (i) Dr. Chen has been appointed as a member of the strategy committee of the Board and a member of the environmental, social and governance committee of the Board, both with effect from August 16, 2023; and (ii) Mr. Jackson Peter Tai has been appointed as a member of the remuneration committee of the Board with effect from August 16, 2023.
