Zimplats Holdings Limited has announced that further to the announcement made by the company's board of directors on 1 September 2016 advising of the retirement of Mr. Muchadeyi Masunda and Dr. Khotso Mokhele at the company's annual general meeting on 14 October 2016,the Board has announced the additional directorate changes: Mr. Leslie Paton retired as a non-executive director of the company on 17 October 2016. He was appointed to the board in 2003 and served on the company's safety, health, environment and community (SHEC) committee (which he chaired since 2007) and on the remuneration committee. Dr. Dennis Shoko has been appointed as a non-executive director of the company with effect from 17 October 2016. Dr. Shoko is the managing consultant and a director of Tailjet Consultancy Services (Private) Limited which is involved in environmental, geological and mining consultancy work. Dr. Shoko is a nonexecutive director of Chemaden Resources, Afrochine Smelting and African Chrome Fields and has previously held non-executive directorships in other companies in the mining sector. He has also held several positions in exploration and mining geology and he has lectured geology at the University of Zimbabwe. He was previously a project manager for the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) and also undertook several consultancy projects for the World Bank Group. Dr. Shoko has undertaken various research projects and consultancy assignments in the environmental, geological and mining fields and has authored a number of publications. Mr. Alec Muchadehama has been appointed as a non-executive director of the company with effect from 17 October 2016. Mr. Muchadehama is a partner in the Harare law firm of Mbidzo, Muchadehama and Makoni. Mr. Muchadehama is the chairperson of the Voluntary Media Council of Zimbabwe, chairperson of the National Transitional Justice Working Group in Zimbabwe, a trustee of the Zimbabwe Labour Lawyers Trust, a board member of the Zimbabwe Doctors for Human Rights and a board member of Belvedere Teachers' Technical College. Mr. Muchadehama was registered to practise as a lawyer in Zimbabwe in 1991 and his practice covers the following areas of law: commercial law, labour law, criminal law and human rights law. He has won several local and international awards for his human rights law work.
