CHICAGO - Aon Risk Solutions, the global risk management business of Aon plc (NYSE: AON), today announced that its Qatar Petroleum District project was recognized as the most innovative corporate securities project of 2014 and received the grand platinum prize at the Security Innovation Awards. The awards, presented by Security Technology Executive magazine during the publication's annual Secured Cities Awards Luncheon, honor innovative integrated deployments in the security industry.
Aon Global Risk Consulting's Security Consulting and Design practice together with Aon Fire Protection Engineering Corporation provided security consulting and design services as well as fire protection and life safety services to support security programming for the Qatar Petroleum District. The District is located in Doha Qatar, a government-owned oil and gas conglomerate and one of the largest corporate headquarters in the world.
The 42-month project addressed the risk issues for the more than 21,000,000 square foot headquarters and offered a multi-level integrated and interdependent security program that incorporated architecture, technology and operations in order to be prepared for future uncertainties.

Winners were announced at the Secured Cities Awards luncheon on Nov. 6, 2014, and will be recognized in the November/December issue of Security Technology Executive magazine.
