• Customer relationship with Ministry for Electricity and Water intensified
• Preventive maintenance work for power plants

Industrial services provider Bilfinger has won a contract in the growth region Middle East for key order in the power plant and seawater desalination areas. The volume of the framework agreements is about €35 million and they include annual maintenance and repair work at the Sabiya Power & Water Distillation Station in Kuwait.

Work will be carried out in the Maintenance, Modifications & Operations segment and will begin in 2018 with a term of five years. Operator of the facilities is Kuwait's Ministry for Electricity and Water (MEW).

The Bilfinger team in the Middle East assumes responsibility for preventive maintenance work at the power plants, necessary repairs to instrumentation, modifications, supply of spare parts and personnel services.

About 3,700 employees work in the Middle East region. The Maintenance, Modifications & Operations segment generated sales of €125 million in the Middle East alone (as of the end of 2016).
