FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - The active pharmaceutical ingredients researcher Morphosys and the industrial services provider Bilfinger will be promoted to the MDax for medium-sized companies in Germany in March. Canteen equipment supplier Rational, on the other hand, will leave this index and no longer qualify for a selection index, Deutsche Borse announced in Frankfurt on Tuesday evening. The electric drive specialist Vitesco is also moving down from the MDax to the SDax for smaller companies. In the course of the takeover by major shareholder Schaeffler, the proportion of freely tradable shares had fallen significantly. Meanwhile, as expected, everything remains the same in the leading Dax index.

In future, the financial services provider MLP will also be represented in the SDax. There are also two changes in the TecDax technology index: The biofuel manufacturer Verbio has to leave the technology index. The equipment supplier for the semiconductor industry Süss Microtec will be included instead. In addition, the radiation and medical technology specialist Eckert & Ziegler is moving up into this index, while the telecommunications equipment supplier Adtran Networks is leaving. All changes come into effect on Monday, March 18.

Such changes are particularly important for funds that replicate indices in real terms (physically replicating ETFs). They must then be rebalanced accordingly, which can have an impact on share prices./jha/
