Energy service and smart homes: E.ON now enables customers to choose from more than 60 combinations

Germany's leading energy supplier now offers an easy and convenient gateway to smart home technology: E.ON Plus. The new offering combines power and gas products with a variety of components like Philips Hue smart lighting und the tado° smart heating control system to make living more comfortable.

'E.ON Plus's modularity and more than 60 possible combinations ensure that customers can always put together the product bundle that's right for them,' explains Uwe Kolks, Managing Director of E.ON Deutschland, the E.ON Group's retail sales arm in Germany. E.ON Plus combines standard energy service products with key smart home technologies - simply, flexibly, and intuitively. In the months ahead, E.ON Plus will be expanded to include additional products and services from renowned partner firms.

E.ON Plus enables customers to choose the components that fit their individual needs, from energy service to e-mobility, from heating control to smart lighting and heating technologies. If they wish, customers can vary their energy service with a single click. For example, they can switch to a green power product with 100 percent certified renewable energy, a price guarantee, and a variety of contract durations. Power products can be changed or cancelled with a period of notice of 14 days.

Customers can conveniently assemble their personal bundle at www.eonplus.de. By including components like smart control systems, customers can reduce their energy use and costs significantly. With Philips Hue LED lights, the average household can save up to 80 percent on its lighting costs. The tado° heating control system can reduce heating costs by up to 31 percent.

Philipp Kraft, who led the development of E.ON Plus, emphasizes: 'We're not just making energy service more transparent but also making many aspects of contemporary living more convenient and more intuitive. E.ON Plus makes it simple for our customers to enter the world of smart homes in a way that meets their individual needs. It's as easy as flicking a light switch.'

Right from the start, E.ON Plus features two of Europe's leading smart home systems: Philips Hue and tado°. Either or both can be combined with E.ON power and gas products. For lighting, customers can choose between two starter kits: Philips Hue white and color ambience and Philips Hue white ambience; both include a Hue dimmer switch. The smart lighting system can control up to 50 light fixtures and has a range of other features - automated timers, wakeup settings, and out-of-home settings - that make life easier and more convenient. With a swipe of the finger on their mobile device, customers can adjust the lighting mood of their home - simply, safely, and energy-efficiently.

The tado° smart thermostat automatically controls a home's temperature. It recognizes whether a resident is at home, is leaving the house, or is on the way back home and adjusts the heating accordingly. That not only helps save energy and money but also increases home comfort. Free apps make both systems easy to control from most smart phones and tablets.
