Subject : Notification of Commercial Operation Date of Banpong Power Plant

The Electricity Generating Public Company Limited ("EGCO") would like to inform the Stock Exchange of Thailand that Banpong Power Plant ("BPU") managed by Banpong Utilities Company Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of EGCO, commenced its Commercial Operation to supply electricity to the national grid on October 1, 2017.

BPU, located in Tambon Thapha, Banpong District, Ratchaburi Province, have operated with 2 blocks of gas-fired cogeneration (combined cycle) with total installed capacity of

256 MW (Gross Output). Each block is installed with gross capacity of 128 MW, comprising 2-unit gas turbines at 44 MW/each and I -unit steam turbine at 40 MW.

BPU sells its 180 MW electricity output to Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) based on the 25-year PPAs under Small Power Producer scheme (SPP). Its excess electricity and process steam are sold to industrial user as well. BPU will contribute additional stable revenue sources to EGCO, starting from the 4th quarter of year 2017 onwards and help promotion of efficient energy utilization as well as supporting the reliability of the national grid.
