Counting people and measuring air quality during EclipseCon 2014 shows value of open source solutions and integration platforms

San Francisco, CA (USA) - March 18, 2014 - Eurotech, a leading supplier of embedded technologies, products and systems, today announces it is sponsoring the Internet of Things (IoT) Day at EclipseCon 2014. Throughout the conference, Eurotech, Actuate - The BIRT Company™ and the Eclipse Foundation present a live demonstration to capture raw data from multiple different sensor devices using open source and standards-based technology and transmit and analyze it to present insights and valuable information.

Eurotech and Actuate are both active member of the Eclipse Foundation, Committed to advancing the Internet of Things and open source solutions. Eurotech is a founding member of the IoT Working Group (formerly called the M2M Working Group) within the Eclipse Foundation, and has contributed the Kura project. Kura offers a Java/OSGI-based container for IoT applications running in M2M gateways. Kura provides or, when available, aggregates open source implementations for the most common services needed by IoT applications.
