London/Itajubá, April 24, 2014 - On April 1, Kapsch TrafficCom and Autofind Industrial signed an agreement forming a strategic partnership with the aim to jointly sell end-to-end solutions for SINIAV (Sistema de Identificação Automática de Veículos) in Brazil.

SINIAV is a national electronic vehicle registration program initiated by DENATRAN (Departamento Nacional de Trânsito) which installs electronic tags in vehicles in order to provide a tool for the police to quickly and efficiently identify vehicles which are involved in crimes, as well as stolen or unregistered vehicles. It is planned that all states within Brazil will roll out SINIAV within the next couple of years so that the entire vehicle population of approximately 70 to 80 million vehicles, trucks, busses and motorcycles in Brazil are tagged and that roadside infrastructure for automatic monitoring of vehicles is in place all over the country.

In the envisaged partnership, Kapsch being a recognized supplier of toll collection and other ITS (intelligent transportation systems) solutions worldwide, will contribute with roadside and back office solutions and its know-how and experience to successfully deploy and operate large scale and nationwide systems. Autofind will provide certified SINIAV tag and ancillary devices as well as their extensive understanding of the Brazilian environment. Miguel Jauregui, Director Sales of Kapsch for Latin America said about the partnership: "We are excited about cooperation with Autofind, as it is an important step forward for us into the Brazilian market. We certainly believe that joining forces with Autofind will result in a very strong team, in a unique position to address the complexities of pushing forward SINIAV solutions in a unique manner providing local and worldwide experience in one group. Alexandre Rennó Siqueira, Sales Director of Autofind says: "Our products perfectly complement the offer from Kapsch allowing both companies to jointly offer SINIAV end-to-end solutions to Municipalities, State and National Agencies, as well as other entities interested in using the SINIAV standard.
