Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Texas on August 26, 2017. The storm, which has inundated parts of the Houston, Texas area with more than 40 inches of rain has caused severe widespread flooding. The storm is now moving into Louisiana and storm surge alerts are in effect along hundreds of miles of coastline from Port Bolivar, Texas to Morgan City, Louisiana.

The U.S. Department of Transportation is actively monitoring Hurricane Harvey and its impacts. The DOT is supporting the State of Texas with recovery and also providing information related to transportation permits, waivers, and other regulations to authorities during this emergency situation.
