Nov. 10--Novus International is building a $360 million livestock feed ingredient plant in Calhoun County, Texas.
St. Charles-based Novus is expanding the company's Alimet feed supplement manufacturing capacity by acquiring 192 acres for the expansion. The initial facility, on 26 acres, will have 65 full time employees and construction is slated to be completed in 2020.
As global population rises, demand for animal protein production is prompting the expansion. "Expanding our Alimet production will help livestock and poultry producers all over the world be more efficient and profitable, better serving all of us with the food we need," Novus' president and CEO François Fraudeau said in a statement.
