Tapah, 25 April 2016 - MNRB Holdings Berhad (MNRB) once again organized its financial literacy programme called the MNRB Ringgit Savvy Programme to some 600 secondary students in Tapah today. This programme which is part of its Corporate Responsibility (CR) was organized in conjunction with 'Minggu Saham Amanah Malaysia' (MSAM) 2016 in Tapah, Perak.

MNRB Ringgit Savvy Programme was initiated in 2012 as a medium to educate secondary students to be financially savvy as well as to familiarise them with the concept of investment and smart money management. The programme which is now being held for the fifth time supports MSAM's main objective which is to educate the nation on smart investments and prudent money management.

Students from 10 selected secondary schools in the Batang Padang district were part of the challenging and exciting activity under MNRB Ringgit Savvy Programme called 'MNRB Hour Glass Board Game'.

'MNRB Hour Glass Board Game' is a giant board game specifically designed by MNRB to introduce the students to basic money management post their student years. The giant board game is made up of four main components which are bank, insurance, tax and bonus. Each component consists of questions that test the students' ability to think and their immediate action when it comes to deciding matters related to money management. Students were divided into groups and answered each question wisely to ensure that their group collects the most amount of money and reward in order to win the top prize.

After an hour of fun and excitement with the giant board game, the students were given a surprise with the special appearance of Fara Fauzana, a renowned emcee and TV host, who shared and motivated them on being 'Ringgit Savvy' through various tips and knowledge on the importance of being financially prudent based on her life experience.

Puan Noorazimah Tahir, Vice President & Head of Corporate Communications of MNRB said, 'MNRB Ringgit Savvy Programme is our creative and interactive approach to encourage the students to be smart when managing their finances. As it is an edutainment programme, we hope that the students did not just enjoy the fun side of it, but also inspired them to start saving money from a young age.'

'It is important to inculcate financial management skills among the younger generations as this can enable them to adapt to the ever changing economic environment', added Puan Noorazimah Tahir.
