Pininfarina : at the Turin Motor Show with H2 Speed and BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe

Turin, June 8, 2016 - Two Pininfarina jewels will illuminate the second edition of the Turin Motor Show Parco Valentino, scheduled from 8 to 12 June 2016. On display, side by side, will be the concept car H2 Speed, awarded with Best Concept at the Geneva Motor Show in 2016, and the BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe, the one-off born from the cooperation between Pininfarina and the German Company.

The Turin Motor Show will offer the Italian public over 100 cars and a full calendar of events. Among these, the exhibition "The Future of Emotions", which Pininfarina opens June 7 at the Medieval Castle of Turin to present the results of the Workshop for students of four prestigious international design schools: the Italian IAAD and IED, the French ISD Rubika and the Swedish UMEA. Pininfarina is also part of the temporary exhibition which from May 15, in San Salvario, in the streets of Turin nightlife, exposes sketches of Pininfarina and other coachbuilders.

Star for five days will be the H2 Speed, Pininfarina's innovative vision of a high performance track car based on revolutionary hydrogen fuel cell technology already subjected to severe track testing by Green GT. Halfway between a racing prototype and a production supercar, the H2 Speed is the world's first hydrogen, high performance car thanks to the 'Full Hydrogen Power' technology presented by Green GT, a powerful electric-hydrogen fuel cell drive chain.The result is a zero emissions vehicle that can reach 300 km/h while releasing just water vapour into the atmosphere. With a maximum power of 503 horsepower, the engine accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds.

To celebrate the centenary of BMW, Pininfarina will exhibit in Turin, near the H2 Speed, the Gran Lusso, exclusive interpretation of a luxurious BMW Coupe seen by Pininfarina eyes. A one-off whose success is confirmed by the recognition received for its design: the GOOD DESIGN ™ Awards 2013 assigned by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and the Special Mention in the Transportation and Public Space category as part of the German Design Awards 2014.
