Actual Gas Sales volume in September 2016 and the first half of FY2016 Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd.

■Gas Sales Volume for the month September 2016

Total gas sales volume by Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. for the month of September 2016 came to about 1,179.850 million m3, up 58.228 million m3 (+5.2%) from September 2015.

In the residential sector, volume totaled 137.239 million m3, down 2.2% from September 2015, due to higher average temperature*1, leading to the decreased demand for water-heating, although the number of customers is increased with integrating affiliated companies*2.

In the business sector (consisting of commercial, public, and medical use), volume totaled 236.233 million m3, up 13.7% from September 2015, due to higher average temperature, leading to the increased demand for air-conditioning.

In the industrial sector, volume totaled 626.239 million m3, up 6.7% from September 2015, leading to the increased demand for power generation.

Volume for wholesale supply to other gas companies totaled 180.138 million m3, down 3.5% from September 2015, due to the change of the volume counting method as the result of integrating the affiliated companies (the volumes of the affiliated companies are counted as the relevant volumes of Tokyo Gas)

*1 The weighted average of temperature through each customer's metering days (from previous metering day to that of this month)

*2 Affiliated companies (Chiba Gas, Tsukuba Gakuen Gas and Miho Gas) were integrated into Tokyo Gas on May 1st, 2016

■Gas Sales Volume for the first half of fiscal 2016

Gas sales volume in the first half of fiscal 2016 (April - September 2016) totaled about 7,120.856 million m3, almost equal (up 0.4%) to the same period of fiscal 2015.

Of this total, the residential sector accounted for 1,243.214 million m3, almost equal (up 0.6%) to the same period of fiscal 2015, although the number of customers is increased with integrating affiliated companies

Sales in the business sector (consisting of commercial, public, and medical use) amounted to 1,262.517

million m3, up 1.6% from the same period of fiscal 2015, due to the increased customers with integrating affiliated companies.

In the industrial sector, the volume totaled about 3,556.655 million m3, almost equal (up 1.0%) to the same period of fiscal 2015.

Volume for wholesale supply to other gas companies totaled 1,058.470 million m3, down 2.9% from the same period of fiscal 2015, due to the change of the volume counting method as the result of integrating the affiliated companies.
