Brooklyn, NY-based home furnishings retailer West Elm will open its ninth New York store in Rochester on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. The 10,600-square-foot store will open at Culver Road Armory with West Elm’s fall assortment and suite of complimentary design services. Crafted goods from seven New York-based artists and makers will be featured as part of West Elm’s LOCAL initiative.

 
To celebrate the opening, West Elm has partnered with New York-based artist, Annemarie Buckley of Scout’s Honor Paper to design a limited edition tote bag, which will be gifted to the first 300 shoppers with a $50 minimum purchase. Additional store opening activities include a sweepstakes* offering local customers a chance to win a $2,000 gift card and an invitation to a pre-opening celebration on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

MYDARNDEST Studio: A Rochester-based creative optimist who packages designs for posters, web and video projects

Scout’s Honor Paper: A stationery and design studio who aims to bring bold colors and clean shapes to its versatile cards

The Greater Goods: A soap making studio that explores the sculptural and sensorial elements of cold-process soap

Wrafterbuilt Furniture: A custom carpentry and design studio that handcrafts furniture and fixtures made from reclaimed materials in Buffalo, NY
