Barry Callebaut reported recurring net income of 215.8 million Swiss francs and recurring operating profit (EBIT) of 339.4 million for the first half of 2023-24, up 0.8% and 7.9% respectively in local currencies.

While the Swiss chocolatier saw its volumes increase by only 0.7%, the significant rise in cocoa prices drove sales up by 19.6% in local currencies, to 4.64 billion Swiss francs.

Barry Callebaut reiterates its forecast for the full 2023-24 financial year of stable volumes and EBIT on a recurring basis at constant exchange rates, 'while closely monitoring a highly volatile environment'.
