(Alliance News) - Blackbird PLC on Monday said it signed a contract with an unnamed original equipment manufacturer partner for use at the global Summer Games next year in Paris.

The London-based technology licensor, developer and seller of a cloud video editing platform said that the Summer Games will involve its cloud video editing platform for editing and publishing content from up to 70 concurrent live streams.

Further, it provides rights holders with the availability of the full editing suite. "The deal also covers Blackbird's usage on two other events, including a schools project and a global Youth Games," the company added.

Highlighting the need for "unremitting reliability" for the event, Blackbird Chief Executive Officer Ian McDonough said: "This win is testament to the resilience of our tech which has proven itself again and again as a trusted partner for live sports production."

Blackbird shares rose 4.4% to 10.18 pence each on Monday morning in London, having been seen as high as 11p earlier in the session.
