CGI was picked by Market Operator Services, the operator of England's non-household water retail market, to continue management of core platforms and the hub used by trading parties to initiate and manage bilateral transactions under a contract valued at 18.7 million Canadian dollars ($13.8 million).

The contract builds on a longstanding collaboration between CGI and Market Operator Services that will focus on implementing capabilities to support initiatives such as increasing the use of smart that are aimed at issues such as water leakage and the need to reduce its consumption, the information technology and business consulting company said.

Late last month, CGI secured a five year, C$162 million contract to support the digital transformation of the U.K.'s Cabinet Office.

In January, the Canadian company received a seven-year contract to help modernize U.K. air-traffic controller NATS Holdings' digital infrastructure and evolve its services for air-traffic operations in the U.K.
