Transelectrica announced earnings results for the nine months of 2016. Year-to-date EBITDA decreased by 23% from RON 611 million in 2015 to RON 472 million as a result of diminished revenues lower by 12.3% compared to 2015. Revenues were RON 933 million and EBIT was RON 228 million against revenues of RON 1,064 million and EBIT of RON 372 million a year ago. Aggregated EBIT was RON 261 million and net income was RON 213 million against EBIT of RON 358 million and net income of RON 305 million a year ago. The decreasing results compared to last year were mainly caused by diminished transmission tariffs that were re-weighted between the two components applied to the output supplied in the grid, respectively the consumption taken out of it, against the background of slightly decreasing domestic electricity consumption and reduced output, resulting from lower electricity exports.
