THE Board of Directors of DAAR Communications Plc at an emergency meeting announced the setting up of the DAAR News Services Directorate with the responsibilities of providing newsfeeds and programming for all DAAR Communications Plc broadcast outlets. The decision was done to strategically reposition the Directorate in order to meet the programming demands of the ongoing migration from Analogue to Digital Terestial broadcasting as stipulated by the International Telecommunications Union. In the statement signed by the executive director, Corporate Communications, Mr. Johnson Onime, the restructuring takes effect from August 20, 2014.

The new appointments are: Managing Director of News, Imoni Mac Amarere; Head of AIT News, Odion Bello; Head of Reportorial /Chief Correspondent, Adebayo Bodunrin; Deputy Head of Reportorial, Raymond Ellamah; Head of Political Desk, Austine Agbonsuremi; Deputy Head of Political Desk, Tonia Ike-Ejeye; Head of Editorial, Chukwudi Okolie-Ugbaja; Deputy Head of Editorial, Utang Okaba; Head of Current Affairs, Gbenga Aruleba; Deputy Head of Current Affairs, Shola Aiyebola; Interim Head of Business Desk, Emmanuel Ohiomokhare; Head of Sports, Tunde Orebiyi; Head of Presentation, Kunle Adewale; Deputy Head of Presentation, Lara Owoeye-Wise; Head of Raypower News, Funke Fadugba and Head of DAAR News 24, Raymond Ellamah. The Board also equally approved the appointment of Mr. Kelly Elisha as the Chairman - Editorial Board of the Group, a seasoned Journalist; Mrs. Mary-Lawrence-Dokpesi as Executive Director, Legal Services; Mr. Johnson Onime as Executive Director, Corporate Communications and Mrs. Funke Fadugba as General Manager.
