Daicel Corporation is mainly engaged in the manufacture and sale of cellulose products, organic synthetic products, synthetic resin products, pyrotechnic products and others. The Company operates in five business segments. The Cellulose segment is engaged in the manufacture and sale of cellulose acetate, acetate tow for cigarette filters, carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC). The Organic Synthesis segment is engaged in the manufacture and sale of acetic acid derivatives, epoxy compounds, semiconductor resist materials and others. The Synthetic Resins segment is engaged in the manufacture and sale of polyester resins, wrapping plastics and others. The Pyrotechnic segment is engaged in the manufacture and sale of propellant powder and emergency evacuation systems for aircraft passengers, among others. The Others segment is engaged in the provision of production innovation services and other businesses.
