East West Banking Corporation elected Francis Nathaniel C. Gotianun and Ambassador Joseph D. Yap to the Board of Directors at the EastWest Annual Stockholders' Meeting on April 24, 2023. Francis Gotianun comes to EW's Board of Directors from Filinvest Development Corporation (FDC), serving as a director since April 2022. He is also a senior vice president of FDC subsidiary Filinvest Hospitality Corporation, as well as a director of Filinvest Mimosa Inc., the president and CEO of The Palms Country Club Inc., a director of Filinvest REIT Corporation and Filinvest Land Inc. He graduated from the University of Virginia in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in Commerce, and obtained his Master's degree in Business Administration in IESE Business School University of Navarra in 2010.

Amb. Yap served as the Philippine Ambassador to Singapore from 2018 to 2022. Prior to his appointment as Ambassador, he was a successful business executive with more than 40 years of experience in the private sector.

He also served as Special Envoy of the President to Singapore from November 2016 to June 2017. The elections of Gotianun and Amb. Yap to the EW Board of Directors followed the recent retirements of Moncupa as vice chairman of the Board and director Wilson L. Sy.

Moncupa has been with EW for over 16 years, serving as its leader and guiding it toward success as one of the Philippines' most highly regarded consumer-centric banks. Sy had proudly served on the Board of Directors for seven years, giving the bank his unwavering dedication and commitment to its growth. However, Moncupa's retirement from EW does not mean he will completely step away from his leadership role.

He has been nominated to be an FDC director. Under its new leadership, EW affirms its course of focusing on its consumer-centric thrust and services that the bank is already strong in, as well as the young Filipino population that makes up a huge and emerging part of its customer base.
