ENERTIME ANNOUNCES HAVING SIGNED A SECOND CONTRACT WITH SUEZ FOR AN AMOUNT OF €3.8 MILLION TO EQUIP THE CARRIERES-SUR-SEINE INCINERATOR WITH A 1.7 MWe ORC

ENERTIME (FR0011915339 - ALENE), a French company specializing in "CleanTech" for industrial energy efficiency and the production of energy from geothermal and biomass, announces the signing of a €3.8 million contract with SUEZ for the installation of a 1.7 MWe ORC (Organic Rankine Cycle) designed to generate electricity by valorizing the heat produced by the energy recovery unit in Carrières-sur-Seine during periods when this heat is not utilized in the urban heat network. The machine is expected to be operational by April 2025.

This project is the second contract signed with SUEZ, following the one obtained in 2016 for a 2 MW ORC installed for the same purpose in the incinerator in the city of Caen.

The installation of an ORC associated with an urban or industrial heat network is not only a profitable solution but also a priority at a time when electricity shortages and variable renewables are putting the stability of the French grid at risk. It is also a key factor in accelerating the deployment of industrial waste heat recovery, which remains very low in France (only 0.88% of the potential for major sites according to the ADEME report of February 2022).
