GHCL Limited reported earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended March 31, 2023. For the fourth quarter, the company reported sales was INR 11,192 million compared to INR 10,528.8 million a year ago. Revenue was INR 11,413.6 million compared to INR 10,584.6 million a year ago. Net income was INR 2,265.5 million compared to INR 2,720.8 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 26.8 compared to INR 23.43 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 26.75 compared to INR 23.34 a year ago. Basic earnings per share was INR 24.28 compared to INR 28.55 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share was INR 24.23 compared to INR 28.43 a year ago.
For the full year, sales was INR 45,454.2 million compared to INR 30,521.4 million a year ago. Revenue was INR 45,845.3 million compared to INR 30,621 million a year ago. Net income was INR 11,415.7 million compared to INR 6,500.5 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 117.35 compared to INR 46.82 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 117.35 compared to INR 46.67 a year ago. Basic earnings per share was INR 120.06 compared to INR 68.24 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share was INR 120.06 compared to INR 68.02 a year ago.
GHCL Limited is an India-based producer of anhydrous sodium carbonate (soda ash). The Company manufactures soda ash, a raw chemical for detergents, glass and ceramic industries, and sodium bicarbonate (baking soda). In addition, the Company also manufactures refined baking soda, which is a raw material for industries like bakery, pharma, fire extinguisher manufacturing and cleaning agents. Its soda ash finds application in a variety of consumer products ranging, such as soap, detergents, glass and others. Its soda ash is advertised under the brand name LION and comes in two grades: Light and Dense. The Companyâs soda ash manufacturing unit is based at Sutrapada, Gujarat with installed capacity of approximately 12,00,000 megatons per annum (MTPA). In addition, the plant produces 70,000 MTPA of refined baking soda. The Company operates through a single segment, Inorganic chemicals, which includes manufacture of soda ash.
