BADEN-BADEN (dpa-AFX) - Leasing specialist Grenke earned slightly more last year thanks to robust new business. Consolidated earnings climbed by 3 percent to 86.7 million euros in 2023, as the SDax-listed company announced in Baden-Baden on Thursday. "We have achieved the turnaround," said CEO Sebastian Hirsch according to the press release.

Grenke recorded a significant increase in interest income. At the same time, however, the strong growth in new business necessitated higher refinancing requirements and the sharp rise in capital market interest rates. As a result, net interest income fell by just under two percent to 338.5 million euros. With regard to the dividend for 2023, the management is proposing an increase of two cents to EUR 0.47 per share.

The Management Board confirmed the forecast for the current year from the beginning of November. New leasing business of 3.0 to 3.2 billion euros is on the cards. At the bottom line, Grenke aims to earn between 95 and 115 million euros./ngu/mis
