Grupa Azoty S.A. reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2023. For the second quarter, the company reported sales was PLN 3,489.93 million compared to PLN 6,408.71 million a year ago. Net loss was PLN 543.96 million compared to net income of PLN 715.81 million a year ago. Basic loss per share from continuing operations was PLN 5.48 compared to basic earnings per share from continuing operations of PLN 7.22 a year ago. Diluted loss per share from continuing operations was PLN 5.48 compared to diluted earnings per share from continuing operations of PLN 7.22 a year ago.
For the six months, sales was PLN 7,384.29 million compared to PLN 13,234.07 million a year ago. Net loss was PLN 1,065.71 million compared to net income of PLN 1,569.4 million a year ago. Basic loss per share from continuing operations was PLN 10.74 compared to basic earnings per share from continuing operations of PLN 15.82 a year ago. Diluted loss per share from continuing operations was PLN 10.74 compared to diluted earnings per share from continuing operations of PLN 15.82 a year ago.
Grupa Azoty SA is a Poland-based producer of chemical products. Its products portfolio is divided into five segments. Fertilizers segment includes manufacturing and sales of nitrogenous fertilizers (urea, nitrate, ammonium nitrates, ammonium sulphate nitrate, a mixture of ammonium sulphate and urea, ammonium sulphate), compound fertilizers, ammonia; Plastics segment is engaged in manufacturing and sales of polyamide 6 (Tarnamid, Alphalon), polyacetal (Tarnoform), caprolactam; OXO segment includes manufacturing and sales of alcohols (2-ethylohexanol, n-butanol, isobutanol, octanol F) and plasticizers, such as bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate, diisobutyl phthalate, among others; Pigment segment is engaged in manufacturing and sales of titanium white, Tytanpol; Other Activities segment includes energy, laboratory services, catalysts, rental of properties. The Company operates through subsidiaries, including Grupa Azoty ZAK SA, ATT Polymers GmbH, Zaklady Chemiczne Police SA, among others.
