Greek telecommunication company Hellenic Company for Telecommunications and Telematic Applications S.A. (ATSE:FORTH) creditors entered into exclusive negotiations with BC Partners after its subsidiary United Group B.V. offered to acquire Forthnet. BC Partners offered to take over Forthnet’s shares from its creditors, as well as taking on its obligations and financing the company until the deal's completion. BC Partners asked for nothing from the banks. United Group's proposal amounts to EUR 40 million for the acquisition of Forthnet’s loans worth EUR 310 million as well as the shares the banks control, which are close to one-third of the company's share capital, the report said. BC Partners may pay another EUR 50 million for the rest of the shares, according to capital market sources. Combined with the intermediary financing, one can speak of a EUR 100-million deal, if it is signed with the banks.
