NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) _ J. Alexander's Holdings Inc. (JAX) on Tuesday reported second-quarter net income of $2.3 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Nashville, Tennessee-based company said it had profit of 15 cents.

The casual dining restaurants operator posted revenue of $68.1 million in the period.

J. Alexander's shares have climbed 91% since the beginning of the year. The stock has more than tripled in the last 12 months.
