Wood has hired a new Americas president of operations, who is based in Houston, as the company aims to expand its work in North and South America. Jess Stanley, a former Shell executive, has joined the Scotland-based multinational engineering and consulting firm, which has its Americas headquarters in Houston, to lead over 4,500 employees in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, and Trinidad and Tobago. Stanley is replacing Shawn Combden, who has been interim president since February 2023 when Paul Leonard was named president of transformation.

Leonard had held the role since 2019. Stanley's career began at Shell in 2007 and included commercial and operational executive roles. As vice president of Shell's pipeline operations, she managed an operations and maintenance program for Shell's U.S. midstream sector, spanning 3,000 miles of onshore and offshore products pipelines.

In 2017, Wood created a new leadership position in Houston, with its president of strategy and development for the Western region.
