Vienna, October 28, 2015 - Kapsch TrafficCom AG (ISIN AT000KAPSCH9), listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange in the prime market segment, has announced that Alexander Lewald will be joining the Management Board of Kapsch TrafficCom AG as Chief Technology Officer effective November 1, 2015. This will increase the number of board members to three along with CEO Georg Kapsch and COO Andre Laux. Alexander Lewald's appointment as CTO will initially extend over four years.

After earning a degree in electrical engineering at the Technical University of Munich, Alexander Lewald spent three years at the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt, DLR) working at the DLR Institute of Robotics and System Dynamics. In connection with his activities at DLR, he earned his doctoral degree in the field of system dynamics for multi-axle robots. Alexander Lewald had the opportunity to learn more about this topic at the Engineering School of Stanford University in Palo Alto, California (USA). He subsequently spent five years at McKinsey & Company. Over the past 15 years, he has gathered extensive experience in setting up new businesses, for instance at Kapp IT Ventures, Gilde IT Management, SAP, and Parametric Technology Corp. (PTC). During the last three years, Alexander Lewald has played a key role in realigning PTC to offer solutions for smart, connected products. In 2015, he worked in a self-employed capacity on projects involving smart, connected products.
