The Board of Cobre Montana NL announced the commencement of the Mantos Garndes copper/gold farmin by way of the initial payment of $350,000 to Southern Hemisphere Mining Limited. To streamline management, provide greater flexibility, and achieve the guidance required to undertake the project, Cobre will reduce the size of its Board from 6 members to 3 members. This will be coordinated with some reorganization to better handle the dual jurisdiction governance roles and practical operations in Chile.

To achieve this, Eduardo Valenzuela has been appointed Non-Executive Chairman. Martin Pyle, Phil Miolin and Dave Seymour will retire from the Board, effective October 3, 2013. Adrian Griffin (Managing Director) and Bryan Dixon (Non-Executive Director) will retain their current roles.

Dave, Phil and Martin will not be lost to the company as they will maintain casual consulting roles to ensure continuity of management and ensure the company retains the historic knowledge which is so important to the ongoing success of junior explorers.
