McDonald's Japan has set a goal of achieving Net Zero Emissions through cooperation among its markets worldwide to reduce emissions of greenhouse gas -- known for causing global warming -- from our restaurants worldwide to the equilibrium point by 2050. We have announced our interim goal of a 50.4%* reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from our restaurants and offices by 2030. With the cooperation of our customers, we have already implemented initiatives such as Happy Meal toy recycling, food recycling, the introduction of wooden cutlery/paper straws and salad boxes, the introduction of renewable energy and energy-saving equipment, etc. As of the end of 2023, we have reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 16.1% in our restaurants and offices compared to 2018. We will further expand and promote our initiatives in the future.

In February, System-wide Sales and Same-store Sales increased by 7.3% and 5.8%, respectively, compared to the same month of the previous year.

  • In addition to Egg Double, Icon Chicken Salt & Lemon, and Sweet Chili Shrimp Fillet-O, Egg Double Muffin was returned to the Asa-Macmenu as a limited-timeRevival Burgers.
  • Hitokuchi Churros, a popular warm sweet, was sold for a limited time. This year, the chocolate cream filling has been renewed to give it a thicker, smoother, and more chocolaty texture. The new chocolate cream is made with a higher amount of cocoa butter than before for our customers to enjoy its smoothness and chocolate flavor and taste.
  • Chicken Crisp, a popular value burger, has evolved into the new McChicken from Wednesday, January 24. The Value Set that our customers enjoy casually in the 500-yen range has been reborn as the Choi Set.
