Mondelez International has announced the validation by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) of its short-term greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets for 2030 and carbon neutrality targets for 2050.

The US food group claims an end-to-end CO2 emissions reduction of around 3.7% in 2023, and says it is on track for a reduction of around 35% by 2030, compared to the 2018 baseline year.

"We are on track for deforestation-free cocoa, palm oil, soy and paper by the end of this year in the EU and by the end of 2025 worldwide," adds the holder of brands such as Milka, Lu and Hollywood.
