Nippon Coke & Engineering Co. Ltd. reported consolidated earnings results for the nine months ended December 31, 2016. For the period, the company reported net sales of JPY 61,698 million against JPY 70,907 million a year ago. Operating income was JPY 2,175 million against JPY 2,119 million a year ago. Ordinary income was JPY 1,105 million against JPY 1,391 million a year ago. Net income attributable to owners of the parent was JPY 1,431 million against JPY 418 million a year ago. Net income per share was JPY 4.75 against JPY 1.39 a year ago.
The company provided consolidated earnings guidance for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2017. For the period, the company expects net sales of JPY 83,500 million, operating income of JPY 2,700 million, ordinary income of JPY 1,600 million, net income attributable to owners of the parent of JPY 1,800 million or JPY 5.97 per share.
NIPPON COKE & ENGINEERING COMPANY, LIMITED is principally engaged in the manufacture and sale of coke, general coal and powder and granular equipment, as well as the call center business. The Company operates in three business segments. The Coke segment manufactures and sells coke. The Fuel Sales segment is engaged in purchasing and sale of coal and petroleum coke, and call center business. The Comprehensive Engineering segment is engaged in manufacture, sale and maintenance of chemical equipment and other equipment, as well as collecting, transportation and processing of industrial waste. The others business includes cargo handling business, real estate sales and leasing business.
