Nippon Coke & Engineering Company, Limited reported consolidated and non- consolidated earnings results for the year ended March 31, 2016. For the period, on consolidated basis, the company reported net sales of JPY 92,503 million compared to JPY 101,797 million a year ago. Operating income was JPY 2,297 million compared to JPY 6,639 million a year ago. Ordinary income was JPY 1,175 million compared to JPY 6,162 million a year ago. Net loss attributable to owners of the parent was JPY 1,681 million or JPY 5.57 per share compared to net income attributable to owners of the parent of JPY 2,489 million or JPY 8.25 per share a year ago. Cash flows from operating activities were JPY 8,588 million compared to JPY 7,257 million a year ago.
For the period, on non- consolidated basis, the company reported net sales of JPY 80,899 million compared to JPY 90,746 million a year ago. Operating income was JPY 1,663 million compared to JPY 6,242 million a year ago. Ordinary income was JPY 761 million compared to JPY 5,850 million a year ago. Net loss was JPY 1,738 million or JPY 5.76 per share compared to net income of JPY 2,994 million or JPY 9.93 per share a year ago.
For the interim period of fiscal year 2017, the company expects consolidated net sales of JPY 40,400 million, operating income of JPY 300 million, ordinary loss of JPY 100 million and net loss of JPY 300 million or JPY 0.99 per share.
For the year ending March 31, 2017, the company expects consolidated net sales of JPY 80,500 million, operating income of JPY 1,200 million, ordinary income of JPY 400 million and net income of JPY 200 million or JPY 0.66 per share.
For the interim period of fiscal year 2017, the company expects non- consolidated net sales of JPY 35,500 million, operating income of JPY 200 million, ordinary income of JPY 0 million and net loss of JPY 200 million or JPY 0.66 per share.
For the year ending March 31, 2017, the company expects non- consolidated net sales of JPY 69,900 million, operating income of JPY 600 million, ordinary income of JPY 0 million and net income of JPY 0 million or JPY 0.00 per share.
NIPPON COKE & ENGINEERING COMPANY, LIMITED is principally engaged in the manufacture and sale of coke, general coal and powder and granular equipment, as well as the call center business. The Company operates in three business segments. The Coke segment manufactures and sells coke. The Fuel Sales segment is engaged in purchasing and sale of coal and petroleum coke, and call center business. The Comprehensive Engineering segment is engaged in manufacture, sale and maintenance of chemical equipment and other equipment, as well as collecting, transportation and processing of industrial waste. The others business includes cargo handling business, real estate sales and leasing business.
